Olmo Omerzu was born in 1984 in Ljubljana and studied at the FAMU film school in Prague. His short film The Second Act (2008) was hugely successful with festival juries throughout Europe. He is best known for his feature films Family Film (2015) and Winter Flies (2018), the latter of which won the best director award for Omerzu at Karlovy Vary. Other notable works include his recent feature film, Bird Atlas (2021), and a short film, The Last Day of Patriarchy (2021).
