Hedgehog in the Fog
Ежик в тумане

Directed by master animator, Yuri Norstein, Hedgehog is one of the world’s most beloved animated classics. The film follows the hedgehog as he sets off to look at the stars with his friend the bear cub. Distracted by a beautiful white horse, the film sinks into the sensory disorientation of the fog as the hedgehog loses his way. Sometimes serene and mystical, sometimes dark and frightening, Norstein’s animation seems to function as a metaphor for the joys and terrors of the subconscious mind.

This film is kindly supported by Mikhail Noskov and Nina Lobanov-Rostovsky.

Perfect Animation
A beautiful, subtle animation from 1976. So good I watched it twice in a row. The foggy scenes looks so realistic. It's also worth watching for a great narration by veteran actor Aleksey Batalov who has a rich fruitcake of a voice which sounds like it has been aged by a 100 Belomorkanal cigarettes a day.
