Nominated for the Palme D’or at Cannes and shot by Vadim Yusov (known for his collaborations with Tarkovsky), Daneliya’s beloved comedy follows Volodya, an aspiring writer from Siberia, who is invited to Moscow to discuss his work. What follows from the film’s famous first exchange in Moscow airport is a lyrical masterpiece, an enduring vision of Moscow.
