Dmitry Davydov is a Russian filmmaker who helped to pioneer the success of the domestic film industry in Russia’s far-eastern Sakha Republic. Born and raised in a rural area of the Republic, Davydov worked as a teacher after completing his higher education, before turning to film as a self-taught director. He lives with his wife and two children in the village where he was born, and continues to work as a teacher. His films include the breakthrough The Bonfire, Scarecrow (2020), Yt (2021), and Et (2023).
