A sweet but heartbreaking tale of two misfits. Middle-aged Ivan, played by Soviet heartthrob Vyacheslav Tikhonov, buys an unwanted pedigree dog, Bim. The two take comfort in each other, but Ivan’s illness tears them apart. Whilst Ivan is recuperating in hospital, Bim sets out to find his master. The journey has unexpectedly tragic consequences as Bim experiences the wide array of human sensibilities, from kindness to cruelty and everything else in-between.
