Director

Almantas Grikevičius (1935-2014) was a Lithuanian director. He worked at the central Lithuanian Film Studio between 1959 and 1992, graduating from Moscow’s VGIK film school in 1967 after studying documentary. He worked in non-fiction in Lithuania, although he is best known as the co-director, alongside Algirdas Dausa, of the 1968 fiction feature Feelings, which was banned by the Soviet authorities from screening outside of Lithuania. Grikevičius also worked as a screenwriter in the eighties and nineties; in 2002, he made a documentary about his former collaborator Vytautas Žalakevičius entitled Remarks on the Margins of the Life-Style.
