Andrei Konchalovsky is a prolific and highly acclaimed filmmaker, theatre director and screenwriter in both Russia and internationally. His work is varied, and over his lengthy and successful career he has turned his lens to far ranging subjects. Famously, he collaborated with Andrei Tarkovsky early in his career and penned Andrei Rublev with him. His most famous Russian directorial credits include Uncle Vanya (1970), Siberiade (1979) and more recently Paradise (2016) the Venice Film Festival winner.
