Bagrat Oganesyan

Director

Bagrat Oganestan (1929-1990) was an Armenian writer, director, and actor. After studying in Yerevan, he moved to Moscow to work at Mosfilm in the 1960s. During this time he met and befriended Andreu Tarkovsky, going on to work as an assistant director on Andrei Rublev and acting in Solaris. Tarkovsky acted as creative advisor for Oganesyan’s own feature debut, Sour Grape (1974).
