One of the most lauded auteurs in Hungarian film history, Miklós Jancsó (1921-2014) was a writer and director. Incredibly prolific throughout his career, Jancsó achieved international prominence starting in the mid-1960s with works including My Way Home (1964), The Round-Up (1965), The Red and the White (1967), and Red Psalm (1971). His signature style features vivid stylisation, long, choreographed shots, historical recreation, and the Hungarian landscape.
