Orkhan Aghazadeh

Orkhan Aghazadeh is an Azerbaijani filmmaker. Born in Lenkoran in 1988, he studied at the Baku Slavic University, where he became interested in making documentary films, while also getting his start producing commercials. While working as a scriptwriter in a local television company he discovered his passion for directing fiction films and moved to London to pursue a Masters at the London Film School. During work on his graduation film The Chairs (2018), he began to work on what would become his 2024 documentary feature The Return of the Projectionist, which screened at the Visions du Réel IFF. His other fiction shorts include Yadlar (2023).
