One regular morning in Mongolia, a twenty-something writer has a vision: the world has ground to a halt. The clock no longer chimes, and cars are frozen in the middle of the street. Taking this as a sign, the young man decides to go back to bed – forever. As his parents and fiancée grow increasingly frustrated at this existential protest, the absurdity of the situation is ever further refined. A languorous slice of arthouse cinema, Bedridden is a monochrome daydream from an under-explored film culture.
