This lyrical caper, shot in gorgeous black and white, portrays 36 hours in the life of Gia, a man still living with his mother and struggling to maintain a stable and meaningful social life. A talented percussionist in the Tbilisi orchestra, his bad luck in love and friendship is matched only by his tardiness, and his eventual fate speaks to the tragi-comic randomness of life so deftly depicted in many of Iosseliani’s films.
