Klassiki are proud to partner with goEast Film Festival for their 2024 edition.

Klassiki is proud to partner once again with the goEast Film Festival, an annual celebration of Central and Eastern European film in Wiesbaden, Germany. From 25 April to 16 May, stream a selection of feature films from the festival programme, including Aizhan Kassymbek’s competition nominee Madina, Gergő Somogyvári’s tender trans documentary Fairy Garden, and cult classic Yugoslav fantasy Kill Me Gently. On the Klassiki Journal, we will be publishing filmmaker and programmer interviews to accompany your viewing, and subscribers can check out video interviews with directors Aizan Kassymbek and Norika Sefa.

From 3 May, you can also watch recordings of this year’s goEast symposium. “The Other Queers: Cinematic Images of the Periphery of Europe” will explore the past and present of queer filmmaking in Eastern Europe across five panel discussions featuring experts and filmmakers from across the region.
