Aleksandr Lungin

Aleksandr Lungin (b. 1971) has recently joined the forefront of contemporary Russian film, and is part of the vanguard of provocative directors from the country. With years of success as a screenwriter under his belt, his talent for narration is apparent in his unusual choices of setting and direction. His first film Phenomenon of Nature (2010) did well on the festival circuit, despite being an amateur film. Great Poetry (2019), his first feature, has won several accolades and global attention.
