Vladimir Tarasov was born in 1939 in Moscow. He is widely known for his Soviet-era sci-fi animations such as Contact (1978), Shooting Range (1979), and The Pass (1988) among others. He is one of the few Soviet animators who consistently integrated sci-fi themes into their work.
